Indian Coffee Table

We’re not sure which aspect of this antique coffee table from India fascinates us the most...The detailed carvings running along the perimeter? The sturdy column-esque legs? The metal archings underneath? Taken from the side, or at a distance, the table almost looks like the vaulted ceiling of some busy courtyard, maybe because that’s what a table is: the meeting spot of our ideas, the place where two lives may come together for a moment in rest, and intersect.
