Indonesian Soft Pink Pillow
Ikat means "to bind". In ikat dying, individual yarns are dyed before they are woven into the finished cloth. The difficulty aligning the dyed yarns is what creates the "blurriness" characterized by these textiles. Often a ceremonial offering, ikat is presented as a gift to the gods. It is worn at weddings and funerals, and every ritual in between.
From our Signature collection, these textiles were sourced from a back-alley in Bali, where they caught our eye hanging like flags in the breeze. From back-alley to backpack, the pillows were made at home, in Brooklyn. These are down-filled with soft velvet backing and hidden zippers. The fringe from textile production remains on one edge. 20"x20".
*Remember that because these are one-of-a-kind textiles, each pillow is slightly different. Please email us if you have any questions or require photos!
