White Kilim

Unique and special cream-toned kilim with intricate embroidery. Most likely a wedding piece and possibly worn by a bride on her wedding day. Diamond motifs like amulets are repeated to serve as protective fields agains curses and misfortune. Often these rugs have long fringe on one side only, it shows that the rug was woven by hand as the older weaving frames don't allow for extra when a rug is begun.

Made of hand-spun wool and dyed with natural dyes. It comes to us directly from a village in Western Turkey.
