Naga Tribal Bed/ Coffee Table

Nagaland, a land of ancient tribal cultures, craft, and home to the Naga people. Though India's 16th state technically, they fought so long and hard to remain true to themselves and to live in the ancient way "Naga" not "Indian". 

'Morungs' are (usually intricately crafted) club and guardhouses. They are central to Naga culture.  It is a place where unmarried boys are trained in the social practices and beliefs of their tribe.  Beds such as this would be found here, usually carved from a single solid piece of hard wood. In this case the 4 legs were added separately with a fine large joinery detail in each corner.
